Help Center
What languages and frameworks are supported?
Our sandbox environments support modern full-stack development including:
- Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, Rust
- Frameworks: React, Node.js, Django, FastAPI, Spring Boot
- Tools: Standard Linux tooling, package managers, testing frameworks
The focus isn't on language-specific knowledge—it's on how you orchestrate AI to work within any codebase.
How long does an assessment take?
Most assessments are 45-60 minutes. Our multi-phase assessments (with requirement injections) run 60-90 minutes. You'll see the expected duration before you start.
What's included in my Batonship Score?
Your score includes:
- Overall score (0-100)
- Percentile ranking against all engineers who've taken the same assessment
- Dimensional breakdown across 5 areas:
- 1. Prompting Quality
- 2. Context Provision
- 3. Agent Orchestration
- 4. Verification Habits
- 5. Adaptability
- Specific strengths and areas for improvement
Can I retake an assessment?
Yes. Developers can retake assessments after a 30-day cooldown period. Your most recent score becomes your official certification, though hiring teams can see your attempt history if you share full access.
Is this "open book"? Can I use any tools?
Absolutely. Batonship is explicitly "AI-native"—we WANT you to use AI. You'll work in our controlled environment with our AI assistant, but the assessment measures HOW you use it, not whether you do.
How do I share my certification?
You'll receive:
- A unique verification URL (batonship.com/verify/[code])
- A LinkedIn badge you can add to your profile
- A downloadable certificate (PDF)
- An embeddable widget for your portfolio
Hiring teams can verify your score instantly using your verification URL.
What if I'm not happy with my score?
Your score reflects your current skills—it's not a judgment on your potential. We provide specific feedback on each dimension so you know exactly what to practice. Many engineers improve significantly between attempts after focused practice.
